Ed Dunphy is a scientist by trade, having worked in cancer research, AIDS research and antibody development for the past few decades. But although he’s been an author on over a dozen scientific publications, he leads a double life. The most prominent sign of this alternate career can be seen in his weekly science humor webcomic, Lab Bratz (at www.labbratz.com). Humor, you say? In science? From before The Big Bang Theory debuted? Madness, I tell you.

Before his meteoric rise to the top of the Google rankings for ‘science humor webcomic’ (well, ok, right below XKCD. No really, check it out), Ed wrote bar stories for First Publishing (Munden’s Bar), and horror comics for Comico/Northstar. Much of his previous work is currently available online at GraphicSmash.com in an anthology entitled, "A Gathering of Crows". He has also written an unproduced pilot episode of an animated science cartoon and has written and produced a number of science comics for various biotechnology companies. "Soon-to-be-Seattle-based Artist Tony Akins is a seasoned and lauded comic book veteran. His first titles saw print in the mid-1980's with NOW COMICS (Rust, Terminator), FIRST PUBLISHING (Munden's Bar, Nexus, Sable) and DARK HORSE (Aliens:Colonial Marines, Star Wars: The Freedon Nadd Uprising). In the early 1990's he contributed to titles Comico (Elementals, Red Dragon) and then severed ties with the industry until the early 2000's when he began guest pencilling for Bill Willinghams's acclaimed series FABLES. Shortly after this he was named lead artist on the spin-off Jack of Fables and has been the creative lead on Hellblazer:Papa Midnight and installments of House of Mystery. He is currently permanent guest artist, alternating with Cliff Chiang, on DC's relaunch of WONDER WOMAN.

His current projects include a new series for DHP with Jimmy Palmiotti, Justin Gray and Paul Mounts; FallOUTS for Challenging Comics and several indy projects; F*&k YOU:Parkour; Rex Koko: Honk-Honk, My Darling and Dread: The Westchapel Horror.

Back in 2004 Evil Squirrels started invading the Rogers Park area without rhyme or reason. Tens upon Twenties, armies of squirrels propelled themselves from trees and rooftops spreading their evilness as far as it would go. Unfortunately that was as far as their plan to take over Rogers Park went and they fell a bit short of conquering that diverse section of Chicago for their own!

Fast Forward two years and they finally got their shit together. A team formed up and figured they could spread their word through propaganda called comics and that was how Evil Squirrel Comics was born, but the Squirrels journey to supremacy was not an easy one.

After a few misfires and one violently bloody coup Evil Squirrel Comics still stood tall in the smoke filled battlefield and can hope for a brighter future where everyone enjoys their world changing propaganda.

When he was only four years old, Gaiter's mother taught him how to read by using the funny papers. At that moment, his love for comics began. Since he grew up in the projects, the only way to be positive was to laugh. In grammar school, Gaiter created his first comic strip "Get Off", which was about kids who lived in the projects. While his classmates loved the comic strip, his teachers thought it was controversal. Despite their opinions, he didn't stop writing the comics.

After grammar school, Gaiter wanted to continue the comic strip in high school's newspaper. Yet, the school said no. As the years passed, he got side-tracked with life. Until doing some projects for friends, Gaiter remembered the passion he had for the funnies. His son inspired him to create "Asa's Dad", an online comic strip, with the help of his boy E.P. (Erik Perez). Now, "Asa's Dad" is in full effect.

Born in Chicago, South Side. When growing up all that Erik knew was that he wanted to be a Disney cartoonist, Erik would practice everyday and would learn how to become a versatile artist. Erik had almost a similar experience in 4th grade, we were asked to draw a comic strip and Erik drew a guy walking down the street with baggy pants and in a few panels his belt broke and his pants feel down to show off his heart patterned boxers! This outrageous controversy led to a parent teacher confrence, and to this day Erik's mom ask him, "Remember when that stupid lady had me come to school for that guy not having any pants?"

During High School Erik was introduced to New Expressions Teen Publication (A Newspaper written by and for chicago teens), Erik started off as an Illustrator winning a few awards for best illustrations and went on to becoming Asst. Art Design Editor the following year. After high school Erik went on to recieveing an AA in Graphic Design and decided togo back for a BA in Game Art to become a concept artist. Through Westwood, I was able to display some of my work @ C2E2 2010...enter the man they call Gaiter! and the rest was history...

Raymond Leonard is an American comic book artist,writer and publisher best known for his work on M-Studios comic' Nyssa and my creator-owned comic Guytron. 2002-2004, Epoch Publications hired Ray as an intern. His first published art work was characters pin-up for Epoch Publications. Under the training of Michael McClain, who he worked for at Epoch Publications, came over to Mr. Mcclain's M-Studios comics. In the next few years, he completed various assignments for M-Studio's Nyssa anthology series. Influenced by industry greats Rob Liefeld, he made a name for himself at comic shows. In 2007, Silver Tips Comics hired Ray as a pin-up artist. Now days he and his younger brother Ryan have been a publisheing under M-Studios Creator-owned Presents Books. His own series Guytron is a creator-owned Daydream imprint.

I was eleven years old when I became a comic collector, from that point on, I bought nearly every Marvel, DC indie comics I could lay my hands on. It was after that I started doodling and creating my own comics and characters.

I joined INTER-FAN (which was started in the 70's by dedicated fans most notably Steve Clement), in 1983, did a couple of stories (one sci-fi and one funny animal), then did a couple of books for Paul Curtis' Micro Comics. I then took over IF in the late 80's but really didn't do much with it till the late 90's and with the inter-net. IF has held a couple of conventions or Jams as we like to call them. We have also published a couple of digest comics and will be taking over a magazine called Comic Fan.

In order to avoid the onerous task of writing, he holds down a regular job at a medical association, records pop-rock songs in a hidden home studio, experiments with the insatiable culinary joys of the jalapeno, designs photo collage art book covers for a variety of small presses, loses hours in expanding an array of gardens and chases frequent excursions into the bizarre visual headspace of '70s euro-horror DVDs with a shot of Makers Mark and a tall glass of Newcastle.

John has been buying and selling comic books in the St.Louis area since 1983. Occasionally he goes to shows in IL, OH, IA, IN and KS. John deals in Classics Illustrated and everything Silver Age. He typically sells larger ticket items through Heritage. Recently John sold a Startling #49 in 8.0 at a St Louis show for $2500.00, $600.00 below typical auction figures. He has about 30 long boxes of Silver Age books that he sells for $3.00 each or 10 for $25.00. John is always looking for this material as well. He has a lot of War books that have been HOT lately. Clients can pick out D.C. war books at $3.00 each or go through the better war books at 50% off Overstreet. He is heavier in DC than Marvel, but does definitely sell Marvel as well.

Dan Dougherty is the writer and illustrator of Beardo, a comic that is featured daily in the Southtown Star and Daily Illini newspapers, as well as on gocomics.com and in three collected books. His illustrated comic works include Bob Howard: Plumber of the Unknown, The Apocalypse Plan, Newton's Law and Rotten. RAFAEL NIEVES is a veteran comic book writer, having authored or co-authored such titles as TALES FROM THE HEART for Slave Labor Graphics, HELLSTORM, PRINCE OF LIES for Marvel Comics, THE PHANTOM and VAMPIRE: THE MASQUERADE for Moonstone books, and EDGAR ALLAN POE’S THE BELLS for Caliber Press, among others.

Nieves is the writer of THE APOCALYPSE PLAN, BOB HOWARD: PLUMBER OF THE UNKNOWN, and an adaptation of Poe’s WILIAM WILSON for Graphic Classics, all drawn by his frequent collaborator Dan Dougherty. Nieves and Dougherty are currently working on the anthology HAUNTING TALES OF HORRORBLES as well as the next issue of BOB HOWARD.

Nieves has a number of projects in the works for 2012, none of which he can talk about yet. And you can't make him, nyah!

- Colorist for (Grimm Fairy Tales, Tales from Wonderland: White Knight – Zenescope), (Zombies vs Cheerleaders, Hack/Slash Trailers 2…)

Jeff actually got his first coloring gig off Myspace just by posting some of his own artwork he colored up there. People seemed to respond better to his coloring work, than his line art (haha). So from then on he decided to stick with coloring. From time to time, different artists in the comic industry gave him some line work to color up and start building his portfolio and of course post on his profile. While doing that, he had After Hours Press (Darren Sanchez) contact him and give him his first coloring job coloring Foxwood Falcons, cover to cover. In 2007 a “color artist” was born.

Since then, he’s worked on the Sire, Velvet Rope, Jesus Hates Zombies, Zombies vs Cheerleaders, Jeff (just to name a few). Currently he’s working on a graphic novel called Foot Soldiers and working on a few projects with Art Baltazar and Franco along with getting hired at Zenescope Entertainment.

In 2008 he also created something called Sketch Coloring. This is where he takes sketch covers of any comic or book and colors right on that actual cover right there on the spot (like a traditional sketch). It’s a really cool..you should check it out when he’s at a show or signing.

Galactic Force Mini Masters Tournament

Galactic Force will be at Dan Con running a Mini Masters Tournament!

Everyone who plays gets a foil participation card. The tournament is designed for easy casual play.

• For $8 everyone gets a pack of Magic and 3 each of every basic land.

• If the player loses, they get their pack, which can have up to about $60 in value in it and their promo foil card.

• If they win, they get another pack, and more land.

The tournament will be run this in groups of 8. First round is 8 players, second is 4, third is 2.
